Juliana Hurtado’s choice to pursue a textile design education at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London set her on a new course as an artisan. This experience enabled her to fuse the design sense and refinement she acquired in London with the age-old crafts that had been an integral part of her upbringing in Colombia. In 2002, she made the decision to return to her homeland, Colombia, and embarked on a journey to cultivate a profound understanding of home aesthetics in her role as an interior designer. In 2013 Juliana  established Mrs. Lovegood, an atelier  in Bogotá dedicated to translating her knowledge and aesthetics into personally resonant, hand-crafted textiles.

With the knowledge of talented artisans, the brand redefines the rituals of domestic spaces by using natural fibres and a diverse range of craft techniques. While the atelier specialises in products woven on horizontal looms, its true distinction lies in the diverse array and combination of techniques mastered by its skilled artisans that are combined in unexpected, less traditional ways. Mrs. Lovegood specialises in weaving, embroidery, cross-stitch, knitting, crochet, sewing, stamp and screen printing, which infuses Mrs. Lovegood’s products with exceptional quality, contemporary design and a nurturing essence.

Margherita and I first met studying textiles at Central Saint Martins, and for the past 25 years, she’s had a successful career in product development for luxury fashion brands. We’ve teamed up, and she’s now the amazing person behind Mrs. Lovegood for the UK and Europe market. For any inquiries, feel free to reach out to her at
